Benchmark to publish EXW China cobalt oxide chemical spot prices

Benchmark Mineral Intelligence will now publish market price assessments for cobalt oxide, EXW China spot prices, every two weeks.

China is the primary market for battery-grade cobalt chemical sales globally and due to supply illiquidity, pricing in cobalt oxide has historically been opaque.

This evolution allows for expansion of cobalt price assessment coverage within the parameters of Benchmark’sIOSCO-compliant price methodology and underpins Benchmark’srole in bringing transparency to opaque markets.

Benchmark’s cobalt prices – semi-monthly

Benchmark Cobalt Price Assessment subscribers will now have access to the following cobalt prices on a semi-monthly basis:

· Cobalt hydroxide, CIF Asia

· Cobalt battery metal, EXW Europe

· Cobalt sulphate, EXW China

· Cobalt oxide, EXW China

These four prices will be published for access by subscribers to Benchmark’swebsite on the 15th of the month (or the closest workday following the 15th) by 4pm (London) and on the final working day of the month, 4pm (London). Market analysis will be sent out to subscribers soon after.
