Benchmark launches Chinese graphitisation tolling fees as part of Synthetic Price Assessment

Benchmark Mineral Intelligence is pleased to announce the launch of prices for graphitisation tolling fees as part of its monthly Synthetic Graphite Price Assessment.

Graphitisation tolling services play a crucial role in the synthetic graphite ecosystem, facilitating the essential conversion services necessary for synthetic graphite anode production for non-integrated players.

The launch of Benchmark’s graphitisation tolling fee prices provides subscribers with additional transparency upstream of the domestic China anode supply chain.

The prices collected first hand from active market participants pertain to a negotiated fee for the graphitisation of coke feedstock material, which is agreed with non-integrated anode manufacturers. The specification outlined by Benchmark stipulate that finished product must achieve a graphitisation degree exceeding 90% carbon content.

The new grade joins seven existing anode coke grades, which Benchmark assesses first hand under its market leading, IOSCO-assured price assessment methodology, and publishes monthly.

Benchmark Synthetic Graphite Price Assessment subscribers will now have access to the following prices on a monthly basis:

· Calcined Pet Needle Coke, DDP China, S≤0.5%

· Pre-calcined Pet Needle Coke, DDP China, S≤0.5%

· Calcined Pitch Needle Coke, DDP China, S≤0.5%

· Pre-calcined Pitch Needle Coke, DDP China, S≤0.5%

· Calcined Pet Coke, DDP China, S≤0.5%

· Pre-calcined Pet Coke, DDP China, S≤0.5%

· Pre-calcined Medium Sulphur Pet Coke, DDP China, 0.5%<S≤3.0%

· Graphitisation Tolling Fees

These eight prices will be published for access by subscribers to Benchmark’s website on the last working day of the month (or the closest workday following) by 4pm (London). Market analysis will be sent out to subscribers soon after.
